Hello, I'm Ilona

The founder behind the team people call when the back end is held together with tape.

Founder of Leading4WD and VAverse. I learned every part of this work by doing it, and today I lead a team that builds the sales systems, runs the ads, sets the strategy and places the people who keep it all running. For founders, business owners and coaches who are done duct-taping.

What I believe

Your business should be able to breathe without you holding its hand. That isn't a dream, it's a build. And building is what this team does best.

The short version

I got into this work by being the one who fixed it.

Every founder I worked with early on had the same shape of problem. Brilliant at what they did. Enquiries coming in. And behind the curtain, five tools that didn't talk to each other, follow-up that depended on memory, and a growing pile of admin only they could do.

So I learned every tool properly. GoHighLevel, WordPress, Zapier, Make, the ad platforms, the membership plugins, the payment flows. Not the overview version, the version where you know why a webhook fires twice at 2am. Then I started building the connected version of their business, and I haven't stopped. The difference now is that I don't do it alone.

That practice became Leading4WD. The systems needed traffic to be worth building, so I added media buying. Clients kept asking what to do before the build, so strategy became its own service. And the systems needed someone to run them day to day, so VAverse was born. Four doors, a team that understands how they connect, a founder who still knows every tool in the stack, and clients who stay because the thing we built keeps working.

Think we'd work well together? Let's find out on a call.

Why founders trust me with the back end

Warm to work with. Ruthless about whether it works.

The combination is rarer than it should be. Most tech people can't write. Most writers can't build. Most agencies hand you off. We don't.

Deep in the tools, not above them

GoHighLevel, WordPress, WP Engine, Elementor, WooCommerce, MemberPress, BuddyBoss, Zapier, Make, Meta, Google and LinkedIn ads. Nothing here is outsourced to a stranger. The founder knows every tool, and so does the team.

Copy that sounds like you and sells like it should

Pages, ads and email sequences written in your voice. The aim is a sequence that sounds more like you than your own drafts do.

We ship, and then we stay

Systems get built, tested with real leads and switched on. Then there's a check-in, a handover and a team that still picks up when something changes six months later.

Honest, even when it costs us the job

If ads won't work for your offer yet, we'll say so. If your funnel is fine and the problem is your pricing, we'll say that too. Then we'll point you somewhere useful.

How I work

Three things you can hold us to.

Done, not planned.

We're in the tools, building and testing. You get a working system, not a deck describing one. Progress is something you can click.

Said plainly.

Updates you can read in a minute. Numbers that mean something. No jargon to make simple things sound hard or hard things sound easy.

Faith first, family close.

That's my order, and it sets the tone for the team. It's why we say no to work we can't do properly, and yes with our whole attention to the work we take on.

A few things about me

Because you're hiring a person, not a service page.

The useful stuff is above. This is the rest.

Three countries, one work ethic.

Born and raised in South Africa, three years in New Zealand, now Australia. Making things work with what you have is a cultural setting, not a skill I learned later.

First coffee

We work while most of our clients sleep.

Our day is your night for most of the world. Your brief goes in at bedtime and the first draft is waiting with your coffee. Think overnight elves, with a CRM.

Studio outtakes

I will reorganize your Zapier before you finish explaining it.

Tidy automations are a love language. Naming conventions are a close second. The team has caught the habit.

Calendar and phone

Wife to Martin. Mom. CEO of a very busy calendar.

Family is where the discipline comes from. If I say a date, the date holds.

Ilona with headphones between calls

Copywriter at heart, engineer by habit.

I write the sequence and wire the trigger. That's the whole reason the words and the system fit.

Other brands I'm building.

Haus of Ilona and a faith-led digital product brand for Christian women in business. Different audiences, same obsession with things that work.

Tools we swear by (and one we don't)

Our honest stack, with the notes we'd give a friend.

No affiliate fluff. These are the tools we build in every week, and the opinions are ours.

GoHighLevel CRM, funnels, email, calendars

One login for the whole pipeline. Clunky in places, unbeatable on value for a service business, and the automations are properly powerful once set up right.

Our default for most clients.

WordPress + WP Engine websites and memberships

When you need a real site, a membership or a community, WordPress still wins. WP Engine hosting is the difference between a site that gets hacked and one that doesn't.

Elementor, MemberPress, BuddyBoss on top.

Zapier and Make the glue

Zapier when you want it to just work and don't mind the bill. Make when the logic is complex or the volume is high. We use both, often in the same stack.

Name your zaps properly. Future you will cry otherwise.

Kit creator email

For audiences built on content rather than sales calls, Kit's tagging, sequences and commerce are hard to beat, and the deliverability is excellent.

Our pick for educators and creators.

Meta Ads Manager + Hyros paid traffic

Meta for reach, Hyros or a clean conversions API setup for the truth about what's booking calls. Never judge a campaign on Meta's dashboard alone.

Track booked calls, not form fills.

Six tools doing one job the thing to avoid

A form tool, a scheduler, an email tool, a CRM, a payments app and a membership plugin, none of which talk to each other. We see it every week. It's where the leads go.

Connect it, or consolidate it.
Overnight Notes

One email every other week. The thing that worked this week.

A system, an ad, an automation or a follow-up sequence that moved the needle for a client, explained in plain English so you can steal it. Written at night in Brisbane, read with your coffee.

No fluff, no daily emails, unsubscribe any time.
